Are you ready to take that song to the next level? Here’s your chance.
If you’re a member of the North Carolina Songwriter’s Co-op, we are sponsoring a songwriting competition. If you are not a member, no worry. It’s fast and easy to join. The fee for a non-member is $25, but that includes your first year’s membership. Members fee is $15. If you want to submit more than one song (maximum of 2), then you will pay an additional $10.
If your song is selected as a finalist, you will need to be prepared to perform your song on the stage at the Bird’s Nest in Dunn, North Carolina, https://www.birdsnestdunn.com/ on Saturday night, November 8th. You should be prepared to perform your song with a maximum of two performers with no backing tracks. Judges will select two winners, a grand prize winner and a runner-up. In addition, the audience will select a winner as well. The Grand Prize winner will receive $200, the runner up $100, and the Audience selection will recive $50. In addition, all three songs will be featured on the North Carolina Songwriter’s Co-op web page.
Here are some important dates to consider:
September 15 – your song should be entered no later than midnight on September 15. You should include a lyric sheet and a link to the song(s).
October 15 – the ten performers chosen to perform their songs at the contest will be notified.
November 8 – the big night. The show will begin at 7:00. Tickets for non-performers will be $10. All ten songwriters will be given free admission.
The show will last approximately until 9:30, allowing time for all ten performers, and for the judges to make their selection.
