A New Spring Arts Festival at Northgate!
Saturday, June 4, 2011
10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
FREE
The new outdoor Plaza at Northgate Mall is the perfect place for a spring art show. "Arts on the Plaza" will feature fine art and craft artists, musical entertainment, spacious walkways for browsing, family activities and great food!
Northgate Mall, a recently renovated Durham shopping landmark, and the Durham Arts Council are joining forces to combine all of the excitement of an outdoor craft show with the convenience and amenities for which Northgate is famous. Proceeds benefit the Durham Arts Council Clay Studio at Northgate.
What will you find at Arts on the Plaza?
- Tantalizing art work including silk kimono jackets, pottery, photography, classic, retro and whimsical jewelry, watercolors and landscape painting will be provided by 40 artists from across North Carolina, Florida and Georgia.
- Musical programming throughout the day will be provided by the Duke String School Ensembles, the Winifred Garrett's Harp Ensemble and the NC Songwriters Co-op. See below for music line up.
- Durham Arts Council's Clay Studio Gallery and tours of the new studio.
- High Strung's instrument petting zoo, colorful mascots, family activities and great food will round out your festival experience.
Centrally located in the Triangle just off of Interstate 85 at the Gregson Street Exit, Northgate is easily accessible from all points of the greater Triangle Region.
The festival is free and open to the public.
